GUCA MEMBERS CONTRIBUTE TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY- ROCKDALE COUNTY
Members of GUCA have completed construction on the largest Habitat for Humanity project in the Southeast, Old Town Village. The project, currently under construction in Conyers, Georgia, will include 32 homes on 11 acres in the Old Town District.
“Habitat for Humanity- Rockdale County” has had a long history of helping those in need and this is a monumental event that will change lives forever,” says Bill Schroeder, Protective Liner Systems, Inc., Coordinator for the project. “The construction of the site where 32 homes will be built for families in need will help those families achieve the American Dream of owning their own home.”
The total cost of the completed project donated by GUCA members, covering over 11 acres, was over $500,000.00.
GUCA members were eager to volunteer by giving substantial time, labor, and materials to the project.
Contributing contractors include: Advanced Clearing Concepts, LLC who provided grubbing and grinding operations; Brent Scarbrough & Company, Inc. supplied rock crushing equipment; Richard Harp Excavation, Inc. installed sewer lines; Rockdale Pipeline, Inc. installed portable water lines; Southeastern Clearing Systems, LLC cleared right-of-way boundaries; Jason Stanton provided tree cutting and removal; John D. Stephens, Inc. installed storm drains; Strack Inc. supplied concrete pipe and hauled stone; and, Triton Industries, Inc. graded the site.
Contributing associates include: Advance Explosives, LLC who provided blasting services; American Cast Iron Pipe Company donated 5 fire hydrant assemblies; Cecil Key Paving, Inc. supplied curb and gutter services; Cherokee Petroleum Co., Inc. provided 500 gallons of diesel fuel; E.F.S., Inc. installed silt fencing and tree savers; Foley Products, Inc. supplied concrete pipe at cost; Home Depot Waterworks supplied ductile iron pipe and all fittings; Kesco Dynamics, Inc. donated blasting services; Paul Jones & Co., Inc. provided air & mandrill testing and TV inspection; Premier Utilities & Services, Inc. donated 1,850 8-inch DIP water mains; Southeast Culvert provided HDPE piping at resin cost; United Rentals Trench Safety donated silt fencing, tree savers, geo-textile; and, Vulcan Materials Co. supplied crushed stone.
