GUCA Completes Christian City Project
Christian
City began as a dream of several families in the early 1960’s who became
concerned over the lack of services for children and senior adults. The first
children’s cottage opened its doors on Valentine’s Day, 1965, and since then
thousands of abused and abandoned children from all over the state of Georgia
have received a loving, caring home-like environment at Christian City.
Now forty years later, Christian City continues to serve children, and its newest endeavor is the creation of a Children’s Village at Christian City. This is where GUCA and many of its 550 member companies have stepped in to help with this project in a major way by donating materials, time, and labor. This jump start by the Georgia Utility Contractors Association, Inc. will give Christian City’s new Children’s Village the momentum it needs to continue to expand its services to many of the 22,000 children in the state of Georgia.
The following GUCA member companies volunteered by giving substantial time, labor, and materials valued at over $871,500.00.
