ANSI Approves Reaffirmed Excavation Safety Standard
The American Society of Safety Engineers received notification that ANSI has approved the ANSI/ASSE A10.12 American National Standard, Safety Requirements for Excavation, for reaffirmation. The standard addresses excavation both for demolition and for construction.
"This is a significant standard for SH&E professionals so we are providing some advanced notification of the approved standard. The standard will now be printed and should hopefully be available sometime in early March,: Tim Fisher, CSP, ARM. CPEA, director of Practices and Standards for ASSE, said in a message posted to the Safety listserv. Fisher said ASSE has scheduled a Technical Audio Conference Call on the standard for March 24, 2005.
