NUCA Certified Competent Person Excavation Do you have a certified competent person on each site when excavation over 4 feet? OSHA requires that you have a competent person on site while people are present and the excavation is open. Do you? Competent Person Training is required by the current OSHA Standards, 29 CFR 1926.650 Sub Part P. Are you in compliance? If you cannot answer yes to all of these items, this course is for you!
   
NUCA Certified Competent Person Excavation - Spanish This class was specifically designed for your employees who cannot speak or read English and is offered via a grant from the NUCA Foundation for Education and Research. All of the topics listed in the NUCA Certified Competent Person Excavation course above are covered in this course. A special price has also been arranged for this course.
   
NUCA Certified Competent Person Excavation Refresher

This course is designed to reinforce the competent person’s knowledge of excavation and trench safety as established by the OSHA Excavation Standard – Subpart P. Participants will receive up-to-date information regarding new and different types of protective systems that can protect workers in trenches and excavations.This is not for first time Competent Person Excavation attendees. You must show proof of previous Competent Person Excavation training by providing a copy of your current Competent Person Excavation card.

   
NUCA Certified Competent Person Confined Space Entry Program Are your employees in man-holes, excavations, foundations, underground vaults, sewer pipelines, or any location where below grade confined spaces can exist and cause hazards? If so, you are required by OSHA to understand the hazards involved in confined space and train your employees on the hazards associated with confined space entry. This course is designed for owners, project managers, foremen and safety personnel on the hazards associated with confined space entry. This course covers the techniques, methods, and equipment used to ensure a safe entry. This one-day, eight hour course, could save your life or the life of an employee.
   
Competent Person Fall Protection

 

·  Do you have a certified competent person on each job site when working at six feet or above?

·  OSHA requires that you have a competent person and a monitor on each site while working at six feet or above.

·  Competent Person Training in Fall Protection is

required by the current OSHA Standards, 29 CFR 1926.500 Sub Part M.

Georgia Utility Licensing Exam Review Course As a service to those contractors sitting for the Utility Construction License, GUCA offers an Exam Review Course prior to the actual exam date. This is a four-hour course designed strictly as a review of the materials studied to prepare for the exam.
   
Georgia DOT Certified Flagging Program This is a 4-hour course on the uniform flagging procedures established and approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation for utility and highway construction. Each participant received hands-on and classroom training designed to give the student the knowledge and confidence to move traffic through a work zone effectively and safely. OSHA 10-Hour Training Course This 10-hour course covers basic safety issues of the Construction Industry Standard 29 CFR 1926. It is designed for supervisors, project managers, foremen, safety professionals, and owners. This course certifies the participant as a competent person on the job-site, which fulfills the criteria for qualifying for "Focused Inspection." The course covers a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to, Recordkeeping, Heavy Equipment Safety, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Excavation and Trenching Safety, PPE, Fire Prevention and Protection, Hand and Power Tool Safety, Hazard Communication, and OSHA's Focused Inspection Initiative.

ARE YOU IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE NPDES CERTIFICATION?

All entities involved with land disturbing activities have until December 31, 2006 to obtain required NPDES Permit Certification.

 

GUCA offers the one day Level 1A Fundamental Course and Exam for general contractors, builders, grading and utility contractors, developers and monitoring consultants.

 

GUCA also offers the two day Level 1B Advanced Fundamental Course and Exam for regulatory enforcement inspectors and those non-regulatory enforcement inspectors performing regulatory inspections.

 

If you have taken a GA Soil and Water Conservation Commission Approved NPDES Course with the last three years of your test date, you can sign up for the Exam Only Course. It is your responsibility to prove that you have taken a GA Soil and Water Conservation Commission Approved NPDES Course with the last three years to be eligible fot the the Exam Only Testing.

·   How to file a PSC Complaint Form and respond to the PSC ruling.

Temporary Utility Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Course This one-day, eight-hour course provides the participant with the necessary training to design, select, place, and maintain traffic control signs and devices used for temporary traffic control work zones and for incident management. This training covers the principles of proper traffic control practices, as outlined in the “New Millennium Edition Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD 2000) Subpart VI,” and other established applicable standards and guidelines.
   
ISEE Blasting Certification Course

.    This program consists of a review of eight videotapes, eight workbooks, and eight quizzes developed by the International Society of Explosive Engineers.

.    This is the Level One program developed to educate blasters and establish a standard level of training for the explosives industry.

.   This course is approved by the Insurance Commissioners Office for certifying contractors who perform their own blasting.

This course is offered only once a quarter!

 
   
Forklift Operator Certification Program

 

OSHA is revising its existing requirement for forklift operators. The revision is to improve the training of operators and is intended to reduce the number of injuries and deaths that occur as a result of inadequate operator training. OSHA estimates that this rule will prevent 11 deaths and 9,422 injuries per year. This course is designed to educate workers in the basic operating techniques of forklift safety. Included in this course is an introduction to safe forklift operations, general driving techniques, lifting principles, advanced driving techniques, setting down the load, and parking.
