GUCA Work Ready Program at Connecting Henry
GUCA is excited to provide the GUCA Work Ready Program. In partnership with Connecting Henry and other industry partners, the program provides a pathway to a viable career in the utility construction industry. As an added benefit to GUCA members, the program assists in preparing individuals to fulfill workforce development needs. The training is comprised of NCCER classroom, on-the-job and GUCA Safety Certification Training. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds help defer costs of on the job training fee. Utility Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Training Program
The first ever Utility Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Training Program was designed so that GUCA members could train and hire a student, the underemployed, or the non-traditional worker. The employer will save money because the employee will be trained and receive through the Apprenticeship Training, all the safety certifications required by regulatory agencies. This program was designed to train an individual interested in a career in construction but doesn’t have any utility construction background. Employers will also save money on Davis Bacon rates.
